Primary Care

Integrated health care, often referred to as inter-professional health care, is an approach characterized by a high degree of collaboration and communication among health professionals. What makes integrated health care unique is the sharing of information among team members related to patient care and the establishment of a comprehensive treatment plan to address the biological, psychological and social needs of the patient. Our team includes a diverse group of members (physician, nurse practitioners, counselors, case managers and other health professionals), all working together to meet your health care needs.

behavioral health

Staffed with a psychiatric specialist, we are equipped to provide a higher level of care for the connection between the health and well-being of the body and the mind. This can include a variety of areas – everything from eating habits to drinking habits to exercise and various mental health challenges. Behavioral health can extend to psychiatric conditions, marriage and family counseling, and addiction treatments.

teleHealth

The benefits of telehealth are numerous and primarily allows our professionals to reimagine the healthcare visit as a house call without the travel. Telehealth lends itself well to our primary care providers, counselors and other specialists, allowing us to further our reach, treating patients wherever there is an Internet connection.

vaccines

Universal vaccination is a critical part of quality health-care and can be accomplished through routine and catch-up vaccinations provided in our office. Vaccination has greatly reduced the burden of infectious diseases across the globe and empowering our patients to aggressively defend themselves against preventable diseases is a key to health.

In light of developments with the Covid-19 vaccine, we have enrolled in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program coordinated through the KPDH Immunizations Branch. Please call for the most up-to-date vaccine information.

addiction services

Led by our board-certified Addictionologist, it is our intention to help addicted individuals stop compulsive behaviors whether that be alcohol, tobacco, opioids or other illicit substances. Because addiction is typically a chronic disorder characterized by occasional relapses, a short-term, one-time treatment is usually not sufficient. For many, treatment is a long-term process that involves multiple interventions and regular monitoring.

A multi-faceted approach is what we offer, including therapy and counseling, targeted case management and medication-assisted therapy.

physicals

Even if you feel perfectly healthy, there’s still a reason to visit with your primary care provider at least once a year. Your face-to-face wellness visit helps you connect with your provider, establish trust, and share your health care preferences before serious illness hits. It’s also an opportunity to discuss important health issues like disease screening and lifestyle changes tailored to you. The best way for you to receive comprehensive, personal care is for your health care team to know you at every level of health.

We also perform pre-operative physicals and lab work.

department of transportation

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operators to have the DOT physical exam to maintain their driver certification. The DOT deems professional drivers who operate commercial vehicles of five tons or more as 'safety-sensitive' because they can affect both their safety and the public's safety. Drivers must provide periodic physical examination reports to maintain compliance and continue working. Only Certified Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) medical examiners can perform the DOT physical. We also perform bus driver physicals as required by the KY Department of Education.

labs

Medical laboratory testing plays a crucial role in the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease. We contract with the top laboratories in the nation to provide our patients with the most comprehensive laboratory testing available, including blood, urine, tissue, and genetic testing.

Employer groups

Main Street Medical Associates is beholden to the community in which it serves. As such, we seek to provide companies in the area with health care that meets their needs, from pre-employment physicals and testing to Employee Assistance Programs and on-site vaccine and injured worker care.

These services are priced independent of group health plans and can be contracted by calling our office.
